Why this site has moved, why my site was off-line in Summer of 2015 and had to find a new home and new URL

Under What's New, this page has links to recently added material, ie What's New on Crazy Pam's Bouvier Site. I expect to be adding something each month or more often. I will put the newest material at the top so it is easy to find. The first section are the pages of Rescue Listings, which I am no longer able to keep up to date; and the second section is everything else that's new which I have added or substantially changed, with most recent additions at the top..
 
Under Coming Attractions, I might list material I hope to add sooner or later, but frankly I'm not at all sure how soon these plans will be fulfilled. Real life and the needs of my own dogs and foster dogs tend to get in the way of my plans, either preventing me from working on the site or suggesting another topic that needs attention.
 
I have updated the SITE INDEX to be more useful ; this page is an overview of the site.

I will gradually be improving disability access features on this site, beginning with newer material and with a few older pages that most need improvement.

What's New

Rescue Listings, irregularly updated

• The 3 most important sites to search for adoptable pets are Petfinder.com, PetHarbor.com , and RescueMe.org, as these are sites used by shelters and by rescue people. All are searchable in various ways. For RescueMe , you can go directly to breed and state, as for example bouvier.rescueme.org/California for Bouviers in California.
• Bouviers currently available for adoption in N. California    . Bouvier Club of Northern California no longer has an active rescue program, so now it is myself and friends working within the rescue program of the Southern California Bouvier des Flandres Club.. Please go to their site http://www.scbdfc.com to fill out an adoption application and to look at listings of dogs available.. or you can contact me directly as specified at Pam Green which gives my contact info. or go to my petfinder page at http://www.petfinder.org/shelters/CA899.html
• Bouviers currently available for adoption in S. California go to the site of the Southern California Bouvier des Flandres Club at http://www.scbdfc.com to fill out an adoption application and to look at listings of dogs available.

• My "du Clos de la FouriËre" ("from the enclosure of the animal pound") Rescue, for Bouviers, Bouvier crosses, and Bouvier "pretenders", is now on Petfinder.com at http://www.petfinder.org/shelters/CA899.html. I joined Petfinder to get needed extra exposure for those dogs who are not purebred Bouviers and thus are excluded from the Bouvier Club of Northern California's rescue program.
• Most individual city and county shelters and most rescue grroups have their own web sites. You can find them with Google or another search engine. Because Bouviers are not infrequently mis-identified as some other breed, you may want to look at all the photos of larger sized dogs, especially those described as black or grey or beige / brown.

I'm going to start supplementing video (QuickTime) with single frame stills extracted from the video. I've been learning that my videos don't play well on some public library systems or on ssome more recent computers. I will add links so that you can download the video to your own hard disk and then play it in some application you have that works. But the videos are really supplementarty to the written material, so if you can't see them, you are not missing something crucial. Likewise the MIDI music files may not play on your computer, but these are mostly songs that you probably know, so you really are not missing anything.

• Similar and Different, a discussion of how dogs are both similar and different to humans, "superior" in some abilities, "inferior " in some abilities, and just plain weird in some behaviors. This was written as a response to an article by a vet who considered terms like "pet parent" to be a "trap" because they distract attention from those differences that are reasons we value dogs and love them. I say that the similarities are just as important as the differences , just as love-causing, and that the parental analogy is not inappropriate, expressing a part of the whole picture.
