Wheel of Fortune song

A little song for fans of Wheel of Fortune. I often watch it just because it's on right after Jeopardy and I am almost addicted to Jeopardy. Both these shows tend to re-assure me that my brain still works reasonably well. (I'm actually surprised to do fairly well at guessing Wheel answers because I've never been very good at spelling, but completing a partly spelled word or phrase seems to be a different ability.)

The Wheel of Fortune song

by Pam Green , © 2017

(to tune of "The Gambler")

You've got to know when to solve it,
When to revolve it,
Know when to buy a vowel,
Know how to spell.
Don't try to Express it
Unless you're sure to guess it,
So easy to go Bankrupt,
So very sad to tell.

"when to revolve it" means when to spin, risking landing on "lose a turn" or on "Bankrupt". Landing on "Express" means you can choose (or decline) to keep guessing consonents or buying vowels , but if you guess or buy a letter that isn't in the puzzle, you are Bankrupt, and worse yet, you have probably made enough progress that the next person will easily solve.

Although I adore Jeopardy and watch daily, I don't (yet) have a song for Jeopardy, other than the line for hitting Daily Double in a Shakespeare category, to tune of "Brush Up Your Shakespeare" from "Kiss Me Kate":

Since I'm ready for toil and for trouble,
Alex, make it a TRUE Daily Double
