the Sheeps' Cocktail Party

"thank God, a Bouvier"

This is from a classic Gary Larsen cartoon in which the sheep are holding a party but concerrned that they need someone to tell them what to do. In the Larsen version, there's a chubby black and white dog in the doorway and a sheep exlaims "Thank God, a Border Collie !". (the dog in the Larsen version really does not look or behave like a Border Collie)..
So of course I had to draw it with a Bouvier. The Bouvier is my bitch Chelsea, who was a very commanding herder. I must have done this in the mid 1980's. I painted it on a sweatshirt (the version shown here) and a tee shirt (I should add that version). and have worn these shirts at many herding events and dog club events.
I thought this was already on my site, but a few days ago discovered it was missing. It's probably my very favorite "Bouvie-ized" version of a Larsen cartoon.
