A friend sent me a photo of this painting of the four women Supreme Court Justices. Sandra Day O'Connor (retired), Ruth Bader Ginsberg seated, Sonya Sotomayor, Elena Kagan standing, all robed for the Bench
(By the way, at the time of Justice Scalia's death, an ideal appointment choice for President Obama to have made, one whose confirmation could NOT have been denied , one manifestly qualified, would have been Sandra Day O'Connor. She'd retired because of her desire to take personal care of her elderly husband, but he is now deceased, thus she'd be available and probably delighted to return to the Court)
