Shelter dogs (and other shelter animals) plea for their lives. The shelter pleas for funding to enable them to save more lives. You may not be able to adopt an animal, but surely you can spare a little money for a donation to the shelter.
This probably should have been titled "A Shelter Dog's Christmas Poem" because this dog has not yet been rescued and it is unknown whether or not the dog will be rescued. But I am keeping the original title out of respect to the author whose identity was not given.
A Rescue Dog's Christmas PoemReceived From the Tucson Humane Society , © Dec 24, 2002'Tis the night before Christmas and all through the town, They'll come to adopt us and give us the call, Once we were little, then we grew and we grew - We "jump on the children", "don't come when they call", If only they'd trained us, if only we knew... They dropped us off here and they kissed us good-bye... The kind workers come through with a meal and a pat, We lay down to sleep and sweet dreams fill our heads.. If you can't adopt us and there's no room at the Inn -- Please make a donation to pay for the heat... |
