This came to me while walking the dogs one rainy day, not long after a 4 day electric outage. (And yes, there is a hand-cranked flashlight, called the Coleman Sentinal; I reccomend it.)

LET IT RAIN, LET IT RAIN, LET IT RAIN

(to tune of "Let it Snow, Let it Snow, Let it Snow")

by Pam Green , © XMas 2002

The weather outside is pouring ,
At my feet the dogs are snoring;
As long as we feel no pain,
Let it rain., let it rain, let it rain !

It's more than a passing shower,
We've lost our electric power;
The woodstove will keep us warm,
Let it storm , let it storm , let it storm !

The wild wind outside is blowing,
But my hand-cranked lantern's glowing,
And the telephone still can call,
Let it squall, let it squall, let it squall !

It doesn't show signs of stopping,
Don't need to go out shopping;
There's food for a week or more,
Let it pour, let it pour , let it pour !

The dogs are awake and talking,
"It's time to go out walking !"
As long as they can use their door,
Let it pour , let it pour, let it pour !
