A cartoon showing the meaning of 'my dog got a major this weekend'
I did this original cartoon in 1983 when I was competing in Obedience with Chelsea. The two phrases most commonly heard at these events were "My dog got a leg" , meaning a qualifying score in Obedience, and "My dog got a major" , meaning gaining major points in Conformation (beauty contest). Of course another meaning of "got a major" inevitably occurred to me.
I've used characers from MASH.
