A cartoon showing the meaning of 'my dog got a leg this weekend'
I did this original cartoon in 1983 while I was competing in Obedience with Chelsea. The brag "my dog got a leg this weekend" , meaning that the dog got a qualifying score and thus one of the three such scores needed to earn the title, was frequently heard and frequently envied. Of course there is another possible meaning, illustrated here. The speaker on the right bears some resemblance to my Obedience mentor, Ellen Haro of Greenfield's Belgian Shepherds, from whom I learned so much over the years. I have absolutely no idea who the man on the left resembles.
