This is the first ceramic plate painting I tried. Davis Art Center was offering a summer weekend plate painting class and the test plate showing the available glazes suggested to me that my Godiva drawing could translate well to this medium. Actually I was dissatisfied with the first effort, did some overglazing to improve it , and at this point it's not too bad for a first effort. It's hard to get good skin tones with these glazes and it's hard to get really good fine detail.
