Photo of tracking handler re-starting the dog after the dog has delivered a found article.
Here I am re-starting Chelsea on her FH track after receiving an article she has found and retrieved to me. the article has been placed safely in a pocket of my jacket. I am holding the line high, so that there is no risk of tangling her legs in the line as she re-starts. Notice the fingerless gloves on my hands, needed to protect my hands from rope burns as Chelsea takes the line out, often pulling hard and fast. Because she has retrieved the article to me, we both know where the next 20 or 30 feet of track are located, and you can see that Chelse is focused on that direction and is only waiting for me to say the magic words "there's more !"
