THE SHAGGY DOG OF FLANDERS

There's a shaggy dog of Flanders that's called the Bouvier;
No other dog is like him in all the world today !
There's a couple hundred other breeds known to humanity,
But the Bouvier of Flanders is the only dog for me !
They were born and bred in Flanders to serve the farmer's need:
To fetch the cows for milking, the Friesian dairy breed;
To drive the steers to market, so that they might be sold,
Then guide the farmer safely home, his pockets filled with gold.
There's a shaggy dog of Flanders that's called the Bouvier,
No herding dog is like him in all the world today !
There are many other herding breed one sees at herding trials
But the Bouvier of Flanders is one who wins my smiles !
The first Police dogs in the world were the Bouviers of Ghent:
The crime rate was a-rising, the budget all was spent;
The Police Chief told the Mayor, "Since men I cannot pay,
I'll give the extra badges to the shaggy Bouvier."
There's a shaggy dog of Flanders that's called the Bouvier,
There's no Police dog like him in all the world tocay !
There are other good protection breeds that make a dandy bite
But the Bouvier of Flanders is the one who makes my night !
In America, we want our dog to be the family friend
And also be the watchdog on whom our lives depend:
A few of us raise cattle and a few of us raise sheep;
But we all would like to wake again when we lay down to sleep !
There's a shaggy dog from Flanders that's called the Bouvier;
His numbers are increasing throughout the U.S.A.
There's a hundred other breeds, and more, known to the A.K.C
But the Bouvier of Flanders is the only dog for me !
