I wrote this for my foster dog Princess, a beautiful old lady dog who had lived with me for nearly a year while in treatment for lymphoma and now was in need of that final gift of love, the Sacrament of Euthanasia. I whispered it to her as she departed. Later I altered it to a more generic version. "She who is Queen of All" is of course Chelsea the Queen of Creation.

Princess, I've prayed to the Queen of All :
To Welcome thy Soul now thy Time has come.
Bravely thou fought thy decline and Fall;
Now be Released and, in Peace, go Home !

alternate version :

         I pray to She who is Queen of All :
Welcome thy Soul now thy Time has come.
Brave thou battled decline and Fall;
Now be Released and, in Peace, go Home !
