Another oil pastel. This one was originally an attempt to salvage the good part of a painting that had an unsuccessful background, so I cut out the figure and some of the complementary background and pasted it onto blue paper. At this time my teacher was constantly exhorting us to notice and use the "negative space", ie space around the figure, hence the dark shapes. In Photoshop to make the background more intersting, I altered it with some filters.
