This is a photo of Max on day of rescue, showing a long neglected hideously infected ear. Be grateful that the Web does not have any method for transmitting smells ! Because of the lengthy neglect of his ear infection , the ear was permanently damaged and ultimately required surgery to remove the inner ear. As can be seen in the second photo, below, Max also had large patches of infected skin on his body, which soon healed with appropriate care.
Max was adopted by an older gentleman who wanted a mellow companion. They lived together for some years, then Max passed away and about six months later the gentleman did likewise.
