crayon sketch of two Basenji dogs basking in front of the fireplace.
Crayon sketch of Lemma and Roach, mother and son Basenjis , basking in front of the fireplace. Basenjis love warmth. I thought the curves of the Basenjis' bodies worked well with the arch of the fireplace. (If you are wondering why I , a Bouvier devoted person , am painting Basenjis, well, both my roomates were addicted to the curly tailed devils so I've lived with a number of them over the years. They are fascinating and enjoyable so long as you remember that they are not really "dogs" in the usual sense ; they don't behave quite like domesticated dogs in some respects.)
