Oil pastel painting of a young man of African American descent , lying prone.
Another oil pastel, a young man of African-American descent , lying prone, with some attention to trying to do something interesting with teh "negative space" surrounding the figure.
In those days persons of African-American descent were calling themselves "Black", but in art class it was obvious that most were predominantly burnt sienna in skin tone. That's OK because the only "White" people with white skin are albinos. To an artist all that matters is an interesting pose, creating intersting shapes, light and shadow, and color.
