Intended to make the reader think or re-think controversial topics or unpopular and/or unconventional views.
  As a child I was told that one should not discuss politics, sex , or religion. But really what else is so interesting or so important ?!
  I'm re-organizing this a bit into sub-topics in order to make it easier to find related articles. Sometimes it's hard to know where to put an article, because most of them are relevant under more than one heading..

• There's a wonderful new book , "Before I Do" , an attorney's guide to legal and other issues that a couple should think through before deciding to marry. written for gay couples but equally relevant to hetero-couples.
• Masters' Peace Bakery, a satire on Masterpiece Bakery, the Colorado bakery that refuses to bake cakes for gay weddings.

• I Am A Pro-Choice Voter , brief (one page) letter suitable for use to legislators, newspapers, etc. You are welcome to use this as a model for your own letters
• Fight to Keep Abortion Safe and Legal for All Women !/li>
• If You Are Unwillingly Pregnant , how to avoid being coerced into child-rearing , including how to use your state's Safe Haven laws if you are unable to obtain an abortion. Also a few tactics that might help you to obtain an abortion.
• If Roe v Wade were Over-Ruled or why 2018 isn't 1973. exploring the potentially horrific effects and the many ways that contraception and abortion will remain available legally or underground or via the Internet.

• You Say that You Dislike Abortion : about all the things that those who say they oppose abortion should be supporting to reduce the need for abortion, ie to reduce unwanted and problem pregnancies. (guaranteed to outrage the Rabid Right and Anti-Choicers everywhere) Updated in 2018.
• Why Safe and Legal Abortion Matters (even to those who would never use it). This is broken into two parts, the second of which deals with Supreme Court cases.
• Who Will Raise the Unaborted Child, discussion of the possible fates, mostly unpleasant, of children whose birth is coerced by denial of abortion (and unavailability of contraception or failure of same). About the very inconvenient truth that it is impossible to coerce anyone to parent in a responsible and affectionate manner.
• Sci Fi stories about reproduction, various S F ideas about biology or technology or culture in which accidental pregnancy is unlikely or impossible. If you like S F , you probably already know some of these and would enjoy the rest.
• It's Deja Vu All Over Again : why California's Proposition 4 (in 2008) is just as bad as the previously rejected Prop 85 two years ago and Prop 73 four years ago. All three of these attempt to require parental notification when an underage woman seeks an abortion. (note : the very people who will be offended are the ones who most need to read this.) This issue may come up again in the future in California (where it is again unlikely to pass) and in "red" states where it might very well pass .
• From "Juno" to Juneau : the Sarah Palin soap opera illustrates why reproductive choice is crucial to everyone.

• Solitaire Sex : Witch side are you on ? , a response to Tea Party candidate and "dabbler in witch-craft" Christine O'Donnell's crusade against masturbation. (This article may be upsetting to some readers.)

• Hillary for Veep : the reasons why Hillary should be the 2008 Democratic Vice Presidential nominee. (note 2017 : this same logic would have made Bernie Saunders be Hillary's Veep candidatein 2016, and that probably would have resulted in their election.

• Real Estate without an agent, describes my ideas as to what would be an ideal real estate web site to enable buyers and sellers to deal directly without needing an agent. It is my belief that a really well designed site with a powerful search engine could eliminate the need for agents in 95% of sales, thus savings sellers and buyers tremendous amounts of money.
