Richard and the Vernal Pool Tadpole Shrimp. Davis, California, is considering another development. Vernal Pools and Tadpole Shrimp are part of the mix. Richard Yamagata, a Davis citizen, had flashbacks to his childhood. The pools and the shrimp were the catalyst for this memory. He lived from ages 3 to 14 across from a meadow And in that meadow was a pool where migrating ducks would land. The pool also harbored Tadpole Shrimp, vulnerable to any development. But, sure enough, the land was leveled, adding a collection pond. There was no chance for the shrimp, nor the migrating ducks. Thoughtless 'development' turned it all into a biological wasteland. This memory has burned deeply in Richard's mind And this now manifests in his actions to counter The Davis development, thus potentially sparing the shrimp. One never knows which childhood memories Will transform into the actions of an adult, Attempting to complete that ethical action Which cries out in plain sight. . Frank Maurer 25 May 2026 2325 Hours.
